It has been reported that a Spider Man seemingly caught a thief in a shop red-handed. This is not the storyline of another ‘Spider Man’ film by Sam Raimi. The Spider Man under discussion is actually the Adelaide Comic Centre proprietor, Michael Baulderstone, who had sported himself as Spidey to commemorate the International Free Comic Day.
Baulderstone apprehended a man, who was endeavoring to pilfer an X-Men compilation from the store. In keeping with the reports, Baulderstone witnessed a patron, who was behaving distrustfully. He then went to scrutinize the man. Baulderstone discovered an X-Men omnibus worth AU$160 in the shopping bag of the man.

The CCTV footage of the store captured the incident on camera. It demonstrates that Baulderstone took appropriate action quickly to seize the burglar. The gate of the store was obstructed by another male, who was dressed as Jedi Knights, in order to thwart the burglar from taking flight.
Michael Baulderstone is the 45-year-old possessor of the comic store in Adelaide. While communicating about the incident, he declared that the robber, at last, had to surrender and give away the thieved book subsequent to a short clash. He explicated that some of the clientele at the store believed that the whole event was a component of the International Free Comic Day celebration.

Baulderstone later confessed that the happening, to begin with, was moderately grave. Nonetheless, what followed was comical.
Woolly mammoths could one day walk the Earth again, it seems.
In an extraordinary Jurassic Park- style experiment, DNA from a frozen specimen of the extinct giant was used to reproduce their blood.
And it revealed that the beasts used more than their distinctive shaggy coats to keep warm in harsh Arctic conditions 25,000 years ago – they had antifreeze in their veins.

The scientists believe the genetic adaptation technique could be used to resurrect body parts and proteins from other extinct animals.

Researcher Prof Kevin Campbell-of the University of Manitoba, Canada, said: ‘The molecules are no different than going back in time and taking a blood sample from a real mammoth.’
To recreate the blood, the scientists used DNA preserved in bones from frozen Siberian specimens up to 43,000 years old.

It was used alongside genetic information from their descendants, Asian elephants.
And this revealed the woolly mammoth’s blood adapted to cope with the freezing conditions.
Its ‘antifreeze blood’ was able to carry oxygen around the body even at low temperatures, researchers told Nature Genetics journal.

This is thought to have evolved after mammoth ancestors moved from tropical Africa in an Ice Age.
Recreating a single prehistoric protein does not mean scientists can build a whole animal, though.
And because DNA is not preserved in fossils this technique is unlikely to be used on species that died out millions of years ago.
The project began seven years ago when Prof Campbell contacted the Australian Centre for Ancient DNA at Adelaide University.

In the movie and novel Jurassic Park, DNA preserved in an insect trapped in amber millions of years ago is used to recreate dinosaurs.

Giant facts:

Mammoths get their name from the Russia ‘mammut’, or earth mole.

Until 300 years ago, their bones were often thought to belong to extinct races of giants.

They were around 13ft tall, not much bigger than modern elephants. They were coated with shaggy hair up to 3ft long and a layer of wool next to their skin. They had tusks up to 16ft long.

They probably died out as a result of climate change and hunting.

During its five-year mission, it will examine the sun’s magnetic field and also provide a better understanding of the role the sun plays in Earth’s atmospheric chemistry and climate. Since launch, engineers have been conducting testing and verification of the spacecraft’s components. The two-headed bobtail (a type of skink native to Australia, also known as the Shingleback) was rescued in Coogee, New South Wales, by workers from a reptile park.

Now housed at the reptile park in Henley Brook, Perth, it’s doing well – despite the fact that two-headed lizards tend to not have very long life expectancies.

The lizard – which doesn’t just have two heads, but has a set of forelegs on either side of each head – is even able to eat with both mouths.

The major downside of having two heads is that it makes moving around quite difficult, and the larger of the two heads has a tendency to try and attack the smaller head.
